Hi all,
I am new to optiwave. I wonder if there is a way to calculate Maxwell tensor in OptiWave? I know MEEP can calculate. But the geometry that can be defined in MEEP is very simple. My structure is complicated and will be difficult to define in MEEP.
Any inputs are greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Shuren
Hi Shuren,
Is that synonymous with the electromagnetic stress-energy tensor? OptiFDTD will calculate the electric and magnetic fields at points and record them at user placed observation points, lines and areas. There is not an explicit option to calculate the stress-energy tensor, however it will calculate the Poynting vector, so you could put the matrix together post-simulation.
Let me know if that answers your question!
Hi,
This feature was requested a couple of times by customers. Your request will be taken into account when deciding which new features to put into the software. Thanks a lot for your input!
Best regards
