Hi Harsh,
Since you have posted your question in “General” category, may I ask which of the Optiwave softwares you are specifically referring to, so that the users of that specific software would pay attention and provide you with the answer (the same as when the category is chosen)? Thank you.

HI! Alistu, As far as i can understand from author, he is referring to optiwave FDTD software.Profile designer is in FDTD and this topic mistakenly started in general(either author not aware of these different categories)
OptiFDTD comes as 4 main applications:
Layout Designer – This is where you define your structure and simulation conditions.
Profile Designer – This is used to define the materials and profiles used in the simulation.
Simulator – This program loads the designer file and performs the simulation. The simulator is started from the layout designer.
Analyzer – This program is used to view the results and perform some post processing. As soon as the simulation is done, the simulator will ask if you would like to open the analyzer. -

Thanks for concerning,
I am using optibpm-9. In one system it is running successfully, but in other which have window 10. It shows “can’t be able to open master.plb file”.
What should I do.
Thanks once again

I think this can be fixed if you close all OptiBPM and OptiFDTD instances and then re-open the file. IF that doesn’t work when the error messages comes back there should be an option to browse to the folder location where Materials.plb is located. In current versions of OptiBPM the location is normally found in Program Data\OptiBPM Materials, but version 9 it might be kept in the bin folder of the installation directory.

Hi SAM
In my reply for which you are asking is just a assumption that i made by searching the profile designer optiwave.I got the mannual of FDTD and there is description of same. Then only i posted the comment. But since author work on optiwave optiBPM, it is also possible in both the versions. By the way thanks for pointing me out 😉

Hi Harsh,
I got the same message when I first installed the OptiBPM. After that I restarted the system,it worked for me.
When I asked help from Optiwave support, they replied me and you can take a look at this message. You will get some idea.Dear Sanjeetha,
please reboot your computer and make sure the latest Windows updates are installed and then try to reinstall the OptiBPM.
We would need more information in order to help you.
1. What version of the OptiBPM are you trying to install.
2. What is the version of your Windows , is it 32-bit or 64-bit? What type: Professional, Home Edition, Enterprise …?
3. Do you have any other OptiWave products installed on you computer? If the problem still persists please send us the screenshot of the error message and let us know if it happened during the installation or when trying to run the OptiBPM.
