Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

The parameter window of the ‘Mach-Zehnder modulator analytical’ has ‘Symmetry Factor’ which can vary from -1 to +1, given in the ‘Main’ window of MZM parameters. What does it indicate in the MZM modulator? Is it the input field splitting ratio in the two arms of this element? The image is attached for reference.
Dear Aritra,
the Symmetry factor affects the modulated signal level at the output of the modulator as described in the theory of the MZM component (attached). It is not direct splitting ratio parameter.
Regards,
Ahmad
