Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

Question:
I am looking to simulate the modes of multicore fibers with an Optiwave product. My designs have up to 4-8 fiber cores. What kind of software solutions do you have that can solve for these modes?
Answer:
We do have a mode solver that can simulate that kind of waveguide. I have attached a picture below with some recent results. This mode solver is OptiMode, and is currently sold packaged together with OptiBPM and OptiFDTD. You can try this mode solver with an evaluation of either OptiBPM or OptiFDTD.
If you want to perform more simulations using the calculated modal fields, I can suggest which software would be better suited to your needs. All I need is a rough outline of your design or a relevant research paper.
