I’ll need a little more detail to help you out. Off the top of my head I can’t think of an object in OptiFDTD that has a notch depth. I’m also not familiar with the acronym MPF.
I think we are talking about Microwave Photonic Filter (MPF) here.
In my opinion, you can define it from phase matching which, in turn, yields a periodic notch response.
