Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

hi,everyone, these days i have spent many time to do co-simulation with matlab and i was learning the examplers in optisystem.i have some problem understanding the BER analyzer?can anyone lead me to understand the matlab code?thank you!
I am very grateful if anyone can help me understang the principle of the matlab code!thank you!
yeah, me too. I don’t really understand principle about BER in optisystem. if you got answer, pls share me. Thx
OK,If I KNOW,I’ll tell you!
The basic algorithm is explained in the component help for the BER Analyzer. It compares the values detected for logical 1’s and 0’s and computes the average value and the standard deviation. Comparing the probabilities of detecting a 1 or 0 for different threshold values the BER can be calculated.
hi damian, can you give me some note in the matlab code i have attached, because i have some difficult to understand it.thank you!
