Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

Hi all,
In the dispersion compensation tutorial, they have used Ideal Dispersion Compensation FBG. In that they didn’t connect the input and they have used only two outputs. Without giving input, how they get output?
Here is the link:
Thanks in advance.
Hi Sasha,
You are right. Without any input, the component wouldn’t work. In the screenshot you are referring to, the upper left port is an input port and is connected to the SMF, so the component has an input. Since it is small in the image, you haven’t probably managed to notice it being an input port.
Regards
Yeah you are right alitsu. I checked the input and output. The wavelength given in DCF is reflected and the remaining wavelength is transmitted.
Thanks a lot.
