I used optisystem to build a laser transmitter. I used the View Signal Visualizer to sample the optical pulse signal from the transmitter. What does the data represent? How to use it in MATLAB to demodulate it?

You need to setup the Matlab component’s input(s) and output(s) ports in terms of signal type (optical, electrical, binary, M-ary), then use the signal structure defined in the help button of the component. There you’ll find instruction to use the commends and how to structure the Matlab code.
