How to get Gaussian pulses from DML

Dear Friends

Hope you all will be fine.I have a problem and i request all of you to help out me

Please refer to a simple setup of directly modulated laser (DML) as attached herewith.

1 Gbps data signal as Gaussian pulses are input to the DML whose configuration is set at ANALOG. But instead of getting Gaussian pulses at output of DML, i gets flat top square pulses as shown in attached Fig. Similarly when DML is set at DIGITAL then again i do not get Gaussian pulses but square pulses with variation in Top portion of the pulses.Please tell me which parameters of the DML should be changed to get exact Gaussian pulses at its output?

Hi Muhammad,
Have you compared the Gaussian pulse width to the bit width?
try to change the Gaussian pulse width and the bit width to and make the former shorter to see the effect.
