I hope this message finds you well.

I am currently exploring the design and implementation of 800G Low Power Optics (LPO) systems, and I find the topic both fascinating and technically challenging—especially since it operates without DSP, requiring precise analog and optical design.

At this stage, I’m particularly interested in understanding the hardware components, connections, and configuration on both the transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) sides. I would be very grateful if you could provide some guidance or help explain the following:

What are the key components involved on both the Tx and Rx sides?

How are elements like lasers, modulators, drivers, photodiodes, and TIAs connected and configured?

How do we handle biasing, gain tuning, or signal integrity in LPO systems without relying on DSP?

Are there any best practices or common challenges when setting up an 800G LPO link?

If you have some time, I would sincerely appreciate your advice or even just a brief explanation to help me better understand the basics of LPO system design and integration. Additionally, if you could recommend any resources or reference materials, that would be extremely helpful.

Thank you very much in advance for your time and support.

      Best regards,

      Hello Chayakor,

I have moved your question to the OptiSystem specific forum given it is in regards to that product. Your enthusiasm for LPO system is admirable. What you are asking for is a bit broad and would effectively be a literature review on LPO systems which is a bit beyond our scope. We are here to assist with any implementation issues you are running into in the use of the product during your research.

      Scott
