High Symbol error in WDM FSO PON

Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a hybrid FSO-PON WDM architecture in OptiSystem that uses a comb generator as the optical source. However, I am facing some serious issues with high Symbol Error Rate (SER) and Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) at the receiver. I am trying to implement the architecture given in this research paper <a href=”http://, 1073. https://doi.org/10.3390/ photonics10101073″></a>
Each base band unit on the transmitter side starts with a PBRS block (bit rate 10Gbps) followed by QAM sequence genrator (4QAM), OFDM modulation block (512 subcarriers, location= 1-256, prefix points=8 and ofdm power= 12dBm), quadrature modulator this signal was modulated with 193.414Thz produced by the comb generator using a MZM modulator and rest of the system is the single mode fiber and fso links followed by photodetectors the demodulators.
The problem I am facing is the high symbol error rate at the OFDM demodulator and have doubts about the phase of the quadrature modulator as well please assist on how to improve the system.
