Hi, Everyone My question is that what is full width half maximum? why we can find FWHM for pulse? What is the advantage of FWHM?
it is an important parameter of pulse and used differently based on the application; for example in communication you have to know where to make sampling to detect the 1 or 0 data, also it specify the data rate as well. in imaging and medical application it is required for clear and high resolution image.

ok thanks. Actually I study some one thesis and firstly he find the value of cycle of pulse by using marker present in optisystem and then he find the bit slot by dividing the cycle value by 2. After that he find full width half maximum by dividing the bit slot value by 2.why he divided by 2 any reason logic behind this?. Kindly clear me these calculations. I attach file below.
