Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

Hi everyone.
I am designing an FSO system in Optisystem.
We know that it is observed that BER is increased with increase in distance and Q-factor is decreased with increase in distance. BER and Q-factor is also affected by input power. If input power is increase then signal intensity is increased and maximum signal is reached at receiver. It also affects BER and Q-factor by decreasing the value of BER and increasing Q-factor. With Mach-Zehnder optical modulator I got a BER of 10^-90 at a distance of 1.7 km with input power 6dBm and Q-factor 60 is achieved at a distance of 1.6 km.
Is there a provision to get better BER and Q-factor for same parameters?
What could be the possible solutions?
Looking forward for your suggestions.
Thanks & Regards
Remo
