I am currently developing a fiber optic refractive index sensor for characterizing crude oils in downhole.
I am in the initial stage of the program, and I am trying to test the performance of my system based on the Figure of Merit (FoM) of optical fiber sensors.
My Questions Are:
1. Is there any software I could use to determine the figure of merit of my system?
2. Is there any specific Figure of Merit (FoM) for optical fiber sensor (refractive index)
3. I also is there any other parameter/factor apart from Figure of Merit that could be considered to determine the feasibility of the sensor system
