Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

Hi dear friends
hope you all will be fine
I would like to calculate fiber non-linear coefficient(Gamma) by using expression [Gamma=2*pi*n2/Wavelength*Aeff].
where Aeff=10um,lambda=1550nm,n2=2.6e-20.I am unable to calculate correctly.Plz find the value of gamma.i am highly obliged
regards
jawad mirza
Hi Jawad
first The area should be in um^2
based on your given values
gamma = 2*3.14*2.6*10^-20/ (1550*10^-9 * (10*10^-6)^2) = 0.00105395366443
you can use this value in the Optisystem for the fiber nonlinear properties tab.
thanks
