I want to simulate fiber Bragg grating in MATLAB for different apodizations and chirps.
The simulation for the chirp-free mode is close to the results of the optisystem (for example, the phase diagram).
I have attached an example of the written code. In my opinion, the n parameter should be modified in the kappa and sigma section, according to the reference article, the “dc” index change spatially averaged over a grating period, should be applied but I don’t know how to calculate this. the other section is dpi/dz.
Can anyone help me?
Dear Amirhossin,
we recommend using either the Fiber Bragg Grating component in OptiSystem at the location Default/Filters Library/Optical/FBG/ or using OptiGrating software to design your FBG. If you use OptiGrating, then you may use OptiGrating component in OptiSystem and load your transmission and emission spectra to the component and use it in your project. The OptiGrating component is located at Default/Optiwave Software Tools/.
Regards,
Ahmad
