Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

Hi,
Can someone help me with how is one suppose to extract far-field information in a grating under the cross-cut results? My far-field option is grayed out, so I am unable to select it. Am I missing something?
Thanks
Hello Yash,
The cross-cut toolbar is not something that exists in the current iteration of the product so is a feature that likely has evolved with recent upgrades. Could you please provide a screenshot and let me know what version of the product you are using?
Scott
Hello Yash,
While you have not submitted a screenshot, I will proceed under the assumption that you are using an older version of the product. If the far field calculation is greyed out in your tool menu please check you OptiFDTD installed folder and find a application call Tools. It will be a menu with tools that can be used with OptiFDTD, one of these will be far field.
Scott
Hi Scott,
I am using the 32-bit version 12.0.0.611. I was able to figure out the tool through your suggestion. Thanks
