I have simulated DP-16QAM coherent system at 112Gb/s with DSP from examples of optisystem with dispersion compensation module which is the post compensation with dcf ,amp and filter. without non-linearity i got BER 0 at power 0dBm and BER 0.0091832 at power -4dBm. But with dispersion and nonlinearity in fiber and dcf I got BER 0.00116321. Is this the correct observation of BER .Kindly help me.
Hi Monika,
The degradation in system performance due to nonlinearities when you are not using DSP (as in the case with BER=0.0011) can be expected, if this is all you want to know. However, if you want your system to be taken a look at for possible mistakes in implementation, please attach the file (although there seems to be nothing unusual with your results).
