What are the parameters(like Dispersion,Attenuation,Effective area) of TW-RS(True wave Reduced Slope),LEAF(Large Effective Area Fiber)?
Why we are using SMF fiber always?
What is these fibers importance regarding our simulation?
You can find spec sheet for different fiber on vendors website, like OFS, Prysmian, Corning…
Hi Siva, from engineering prospective the main reason we are often using SMF because they are widespread telecom. media nowdays (hundredth of 100 km) of SMF were laid in the ground. And the usage of existing infrastructure for most of design projects is always the main requirement.
I can recommend to look at some industrial reports from Lightwave, Ciena, Infinera, etc. about fiber cable infrastructure strategies to evaluate more on this topic.
Please, let me know if there any other reason, especially if it’s related to OptiSystem!
