actually most of the papers consider it as same

moreover there is hardly any material related to optigrating available on google
Hi,
OptiGrating simulates fiber bragg gratings as well as slab gratings and some simple coupler configurations. You can also import your own modal fields to simulate more extravagant designs.

I agree with Damian’s explanation and just want to add from myself that OptiGrating is a wider (more general) term for optical gratings used in literature. It includes gratings for different waveguides structure (cilindrical, slab, etc.) and gratings with different profiles (fiber Bragg or some other kind).
