Hello every one..
I want to know, when i used only FBG technique for 100km length of SMF .Q-factor is around 38 and using only DCF Q-factor is around 22 with 0.2db/km attenuation .but when i combine both the technique Q-factor is reduced what is reason behind this?Is there any method to improve the Q-factor with combine technique(DCF+FBG).It should be increased after combining…
In most of the cases we use amplifier before and after DCF to improve Q-factor but in case of FBG only one amplifier is sufficient …Then why DCF is also called good technique?
Dear Rajkumar,
the issue is expected and it is related to nonlinear effect in the DCF. you need to place the amplifier and DCF in the right position in the link.

Ahmad
