Hello everyone,
I am presently working on Lenovo G560 Laptop which is accompanied with “NVIDIA Geforce with cuda , memory 512 MB”. In the layout parameters if I enable the option for “cuda” the optisystem design software stops responding. I am not getting what may be the reason for this error message. a snapshot of the error message is attache herewith. Looking for a solution. Thanking you.Regards,

well,
this is first time i have seen such problem;
The CUDA platform is designed to work with programming languages such as C, C++ and Fortran.. Also, CUDA supports programming frameworks such as OpenACC and OpenCL.
may be there may not be compatibility between optisytem and cuda.hope we will get confident answer soon.
with regards

Hi Aasif,
Thanks for the reply but I do not think so cuda (Compute Unified Device Architecture) is not compatible with optisystem, a graphics card with cuda makes easier in parallel programming to utilize GPU resources. I also do not know in what context Optisystem has given this feature, and how to use this option. I also found in one of the webpages that this CUDA technology helps the GPU to solve very complex computational problems.Regards,

Hi all,
I think compatability may not be an issue… But we really need to figure out how exactly to use this option… As mentioned by aasif i am also hearing first time about such a problem…

Hello Sahil Singh, I want to add one more aspect that without enabling this option all the design run properly, but with CUDA enabled not of the design completes execution. Thanks for the response.

Hi Dhiman Kakati,
I have also seen such problem in my Personal computer too but very rarely.
I am using ACER Laptop.
But after sometime when i left using trying to use optisystem software and after few times the above problem doesn’t arise.
If it continues after sometimes too, try to restart the computer and then try to use the optisystem.
hope your problem will be solved.Regards,

Hello Ranjeet Kumar,
As you have suggested I tried many time the execution and finally able to run the full execution, and surprisingly it took very less time when the CUDA is enabled. but sorry to say the the laser is not working i.e. no output signal (power is -100 dBm) at the output. I checked all the property of the laser but not finding any kind of solution. I have attached herewith the design .osd file. please have a look. by disabling the option CUDA the same circuit gives good output. Thanking you for the advice.Regards,
