Dears,
In profile designer, How could I change the wavelength value of 1.55 um for 2 um?
I put 2 and save, but it changes for 1.55 all time.
Thanks,
Juliana.
Actually I have the same problem everytime I have to change otherwise come back to same number is there any way to change it? Thanks
I am waiting any help, please… Thanks!
Hi Juliana,
The wavelength box in the Profile Designer is only a design aid as it will calculate the refractive index at a desired wavelength. Each material does not actually store the corresponding wavelength. If you are making a simple dielectric material with no dispersion then the wavelength does not matter at all!
The wavelength for the project can be set in the Simulation Parameters window from the Simulation tab.
Regards,
Damian
Hi Damian,
Thanks for your answer! Just want to clarify your explanation. Do you mean that this wavelength (in the ‘Profile Designer’) is set up for vacuum?
The wavelength in the Profile Designer is indeed the vacuum wavelength.
Thank you for your confirmation and clarification, Damian!
how about chanigng the amplitude?
what is the exact finctionality, looks good, interesting….
