I‘m trying to simulate the LFM-based Phi-OTDR. I’m wondering if Optisystem can do that. And if so, how? I’m new to Optisystem.
Dear Fengyuan,
The current Phi-OTDR component in OptiSystem is a standalone component, which can be designed to simulate multiple vibrations. We are working to make this component integratable with other components.
Regards,
Ahmad
Hi Ahmad,
Thank you for your help. So what if I build a LFM-based Phi-OTDR in OptiSystem by combining other components instead of using the Phi-OTDR standalone component. What I mean is that can I use other components to build the LFM-based OTDR like the way of simulating OFDR in OptiSystem?
Best regards,
Fengyuan

Hello Feng,
you should be able to build the LFM-based Phi-OTDR in OptiSystem and you could use the Matlab and/or python components to complement any missing component.

Ahmad
