Kindly I would ask if it is possible to simulate the BOTDA system (Basic Setup attached) to analyse the fiber based sensors system.
The basic idea is to get the reflected signal from the port 3 of the circulator and pass it to the filter in order to analyse the Brillouin effect on the probe signal.
Could the circulator component in the Optisystem do this function?

In OptiSystem, you can get the Brillouin backscattered signal in bidirectional fiber as a parametrized signal. Also, you can insert the tunable laser source on the right hand side. So in the left hand side you would have a parametrized Brillouin backscattered signal and the transmitted signal from the tunable laser (parametrized or sampled as you define the tunable laser source).
