Bidirectional System and Delay

Hi, all….

I am a beginner in OptiSystem.I’m just revised the tutorial Lesson 5 about Bidirectional Simulation.But, there was something that I could not understand.As the file, i attached below.First is the design set up in Lesson 5 tutorial and second is the explanation about the setup.I did not understand the explanation with YELLOW highlight that mentioned in the second file that I attached about the delay.Could anyone please help me by explaining it to me briefly.
