HI ALL
WHEN WE CALCULATE BER IS THERE ANY RULE THAT THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY ELECTRICAL TO OPTICAL CONVERTER IN BETWEEN? I AM ATTACHING A FIGURE TO EXPLAIN.I WANT TO CALCULATE BER(ERROR RATE OF OPTICAL CIRCUIT USING PSEUDORANDOM GENERATOR) .HOWEVER IN BETWEEN PSEUDO RANDOM GEN AND BER ANALYZER WE HAVE CONVERTED OPTICAL SIGNAL TO ELECTRICAL AND BACK TO OPTICALSIGNAL.IS IT WRONG METHOD TO CALCULATE BER (WITH RESPECT TO PSEUDORANDOM GENERATOR)

SORRY ATTACHMENT FAILED ABOVE
Are you trying to measure elect. BER for this scheme as well? Can you, please, explain why exactly do you need a second convertion?
In my opinion, BER should be the same for both measurement. The difference will be between SNR and OSNR.
