Hi Everyone, My question is that in normal fiber the attenution is 0.2db/km so what is the attenuation value in non linear fiber? In one paper i saw <=0.9db/km and in one paper i saw range 0.5db/km to 0.9db/km but i use 0.2db/km. I am little bit confuse. Kindly clear me which value i can use?
As far as I know, attenuation is independent on the nonlinearity or dispersion. it depends on the fiber itself.
so you can use any value. or you r doing the simulation on a real fiber type , you can check its data sheet.
ok thanks.
