You can upgrade older versions of OptiSystem to version 16.o as long as you have valid maintenance and support license. Also, you can download a 30-days trail version of OptiSystem 16.0 and installed it on a new machine.

I’ve checked with the IT guys at Optiwave, it is possible to install OptiSystem release 16.0 on the same computer that has an earlier version of OptiSystem. I hope you’ll enjoy the new release.
