Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

Hi everyone, I do not find the LD Light Source in the OptiSystem, could you help me to simulate it?
Hello,
The LD source and other light sources in OptiSystem are located in Default/Transmitters Library/Optical Sources/
You may search for any component in OptiSystem by right click the mouse when it is in the Component Library docker and use “Find Component…”
Regards,
Ahmad
Thank you for your reply, but I do not see the LD Source in the Optical Sources as in the attached picture. Can you help me again? thanks.
Hello,
The LD means laser diode. The CW laser is an LD source. There are DFB lasers and FP lasers as well. It depends on your application.
What are you trying to achieve?

Ahmad
I want to simulate the monitoring system using the FBGs sensor in PON. Thank you for your help.
Hi Ahmad Atieh,
Could you tell me how to create a light source using an FP laser to transmit a signal to the FBG sensor? thank you.
