Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

Hello there,
I am currently working on generating a 60 GHz carrier frequency. I have managed to get 60 GHz carrier but, I have a few issues:
1. I obtain acceptable BER, which is 10e-15, but I don’t get a good eye diagram.
2. I have tested with different distances (km), but the Q-factor and BER get better with every km increasing. Isn’t it supposed to be decreasing?
3. I also tested with different input power, similar case happened as mentioned in number 2.
WOuld anyone tell me if I get my circuit wrong and what should I do to improve my situations? Thank you. I have attached the circuit. MY bias voltage is set at 4V since lower than 0V will not generate 60 GHz
Hello Shah,
It is difficult to identify any issue in your project without having it. Could you please send me your project as a zip file to ahmad.atieh@optiwave.com? I’ll check it and get back to you.
Regards,
Ahmad
