Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

Hi all,
I am trying to see the effect on kerr nonlinear waveguides with different power levels. Firstly I could not find a way to observe the change in refractive index of the waveguide when I change the power. Is there a way to do it?
Secondly, is it possible to do 3D simulation with kerr nonlinear waveguide?
I could run 2D but 3d simulation gave me an error.
Thank you for your help and time
Cheers,
Anish
Hi,
Unfortunately only the 2D simulator can support nonlinear materials at the moment.
It will not be possible to see the refractive index change as it is calculated on the fly during simulation.
Best regards
Aurelien
Thank you for the information Aurelien.
