I did not find any clues in paper either but I don’t think this is a problem, since these parameters are chosen with the assumption that they match fiber characteristics as you mentioned. In OptiSystem, if you don’t choose the option “user defined reference wavelength”, the signal central wavelength will automatically be chosen as the reference wavelength.
