The green part is indeed the noise and the blue signal is the combined noise and signal. When the option Convert Noise Bins is not checked OptiSystem will separate the noise and signal and allow you to view them also separately. The advantages of this is that it is quite easy to perform some types of common operations on a “noise bin” like loss or gain for example.
