Home › Forums › SYSTEM › Inquiry on how to obtain longitudinal modes of a simple Fabry-Perot cavity laser
Hello, I am trying to obtain the spectrum of the longitudinal modes of a simple laser cavity of two mirrors but I am having some problems.
My system consists of an initial CW laser (pump laser) that goes into two mirrors surrounding optical fiber (the cavity medium) in between.
I have a sweep in frequency for the initial CW laser (pump laser) around 1100 nm, and I measure with an Optical Power Meter at the end. What I’ve tried to see the spectrum of longitudinal modes, is graph the frequency against the total power, but it doesn’t seem to be working. Is there a way for me to see the longitudinal modes of my cavity laser?
