Why the reading of BER tester is different,when i use the two different sequence length of the same system. Are there some setting steps to obtain the same reading ?
for example : DP-16QAM transmission in Back-to-Back investigation
Bit rate =160 Gbps
sequence length=65536
no. of sample per bit=16
symbol rate=20 GS/s
BER=0
in case of sequence length =16384
BER = 0.5
Dear Adnan,
In advanced modulation schemes such as 16QAM, the simulation requires long sequence length to provide meaningful results. This is also something you have to set on instruments. You need to use long enough length to allow the system to provide proper results.
Usually, it is recommended to increase the sequence length and monitor the BER/SER and continue increase until the results are relatively close and stabilize.
