Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

Hello Everyone,
I would like to design an OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) system for fault finding and localization purpose in TWDM-PON system. Here, i have to measure ReyLeigh back scatter signal.
I have found some similar design in Optisystem forum, But could not give any output at PIN/APD. Does anyone knows how to Overcome it?
Thanks
Maddy
Hello Maddy,
OptiSystem will offer phi-OTDR component and interrogator in its coming 16.0 version early next year.
Your design is missing delay element to allow backward calculation. Also, the measured backreflected Rayleigh signal is a parametric signal represents the average backreflected signal power.
regards,
Ahmad
