      HELLO dear,

      can someone help me to calculate from 10Gbps to 100Gbps, how could I generate TFWHM (total full wave maximum). this is to simulate soliton pulse in the optical fiber.
      some formula is confused me.
      ex:

      FWHM= 2sqrt1+1ln2= 1.763 ps
      but other says
      FWHM= 2sqrt+2ln2= 2.35… ps
      from both which one is correct?
      50Gps =? TFWHM

      Hi Fabrice,
      In OptiSystem, you can define the pulse width in terms of the bit width.
      for example, for 50Gbps the bit width is equal = 20 ps (pico-sec).
      if I define the pulse width as 0.2 bit, so that means the FWHM = 0.2* 20 = 4 ps.

      these values will be found in the attached file created for you.

      thanks
