Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

Dear all,
How to plot the following using OptiSystem
(1) BER vs Extinction ratio?
(2) BER vs phase noise amplitude?
(3) BER vs IQ mismatch amplitude?
How to calculate power penalties for the same?
With regards,
Dhiman Kakati
Dear Dhiman,
As you know you can sweep any independent parameter and then plot any two other parameters.
Even if these two parameters are dependent!.
Attached is an example I have modified for you. I sweep the fibbed length in the system and in the results I plotted the BER and the extinction ratio!.
Even so these two dependant parameters are from two different components.
Hope I answered your question!
thanks
Mohamed
Dear Dhiman,
here is the file .zip
Thank you Mohamed,
Kindly tell me how to plot #3
