What is the difference between reference current and threshold current in LASER MEASURED COMPONENT? (Click laser measured component, click measurements tab, you will find REFERENCE CURRENT and THRESHOLD CURRENT) Does it have any impact on laser’s output by changing its values??
Hi Padman,
yes they affect the calculations.
for examples; In the component help, you will find that, Reference current is used in
.raise time needed for carriers to reach the threshold carrier density.
.line-width parameter for the laser when the bias current is the reference current parameter
threshold current is function of many parameter as defined in the manual. it is the value of the laser to start lase.
hope this helps,
thanks
