Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

Dear friends
Hope you all will be fine
please let me know one question
with reference to figure attached,in indirect laser modulation jitter can be produced in output optical signal by using “electrical jitter” in component library. But in case of direct laser modulation(e.g when PRBS in directly driving the pulse laser source) ,how we can add jitter in output optical signal???
hope you will clear my point
Regards
Jawad Mirza
You can directly modulate a laser using a combination of any electric pulse generator and the Electrical Jitter component. You might not be able to use the Optical Transmitter component in this way, but you can certainly set-up the system in the attached picture. Instead of the MZM, use the directly modulated “Ideal Single Mode Laser” component.
Thanks sir D Marek
Please sir make it clear as i am using optisystem 7 version having only ” directly modulated laser measured” not “ideal single mode Laser” component.
Is ” directly modulated laser measured” is the same component that you have mentioned and is this setup is correct as attached as screen shot?
