Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiSystem is a comprehensive software design suite that enables users to plan, test, and simulate optical links in the transmission layer of modern optical networks.
OptiInstrument addresses the needs of researchers, scientists, photonic engineers, professors and students who are working with instruments.
OptiSPICE is the first circuit design software for analysis of integrated circuits including interactions of optical and electronic components. It allows for the design and simulation of opto-electronic circuits at the transistor level, from laser drivers to transimpedance amplifiers, optical interconnects and electronic equalizers.
OptiFDTD is a powerful, highly integrated, and user friendly CAD environment that enables the design and simulation of advanced passive and non-linear photonic components.
OptiBPM is a comprehensive CAD environment used for the design of complex optical waveguides. Perform guiding, coupling, switching, splitting, multiplexing, and demultiplexing of optical signals in photonic devices.
The optimal design of a given optical communication system depends directly on the choice of fiber parameters. OptiFiber uses numerical mode solvers and other models specialized to fibers for calculating dispersion, losses, birefringence, and PMD.
Emerging as a de facto standard over the last decade, OptiGrating has delivered powerful and user friendly design software for modeling integrated and fiber optic devices that incorporate optical gratings.

Dear friends
hope you all will be fine
i want to use DFB laser in my simulation but i am not finding DFB in laser component library. Please tell me how to get the same in optisystem. Also tell me what is the specialized use of DFB over CW laser or any other type of laser source?
i will be highly obliged for your kind help
regards
jawad mirza
You can find the DFB laser in the Transmitters Library\Optical Sources\ folder. It uses two models, the Transmission Line model being the most physically accurate.
The major difference between a classical Fabry Perot cavity laser and a DFB is the use of a Bragg grating instead of two reflective mirrors. The Bragg grating is a much more selective cavity design and therefor the linewidth of the will be smaller then a comparable FP cavity laser.
Dear sir
D Marek
thanks a lot for your kind reply and clearing the confusion
regards

Sir D.Marek
i am using optisystem v.7
in transmitters and sources folder i am not finding the DFB laser rather there are CW laser, laser rate equation, laser measured,LED,While light LED,pumplaser and pump laser array,CW laser array,CW laser measured,Directly modulated laser,CW laser array ES,VCSEL,VCSEL array, controlled pump laser, spatial VCSEL etc
what can be done in this matter…plz help
