Thomas FreirHi, I have two questions regarding the attached simulation.
I have two links. One using the optical transmitter component and the second using a CW laser, Mach Zender modulator and PRBS.
First Question
Both systems are nominally the same. When I run a simulation I can get a measurement of both lins BER using the BER analyser. (the two results are different, I not worried that they are different). If I run the simulation a second time the link using the optical transmitter gives the same BER but the lin using the CW laser etc gives a different result. Why is this?
Second Question
Looking at the link using the optical transmitter I sweep the wavelength of the optical transmitter from 1511nm to 1591nm. If I polt the BER versus the wavelength the BER gradually improves. Can anyone give me a reason why. (The optical fibre loss is set to 0.2dB for all wavelengths) See next post for graph.

Thomas FreirI figured out the second question, it was the fibre dispersion.
Can anyone from the optisystem team answer the first part.
