Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

Hi all,
I want to know the following. If I want to transfer 40 Gbps data, using a system which uses BER Test set, where do I set the bit rate? I have been doing this by setting bit rate in Layout design as I remember someone in the forum said that. But when I went through the BER Test Set I was confused. In the layout the Bit rate=40e+009 and symbol rate=10e+009. I am using 4 bits per symbol in QAM sequence generator and decoder. In the BER Test Set, I have set Bit Rate=Bit rate * 128/ 256. The evaluation gives a result, bit rate = 20e+009.
Now my confusion is, at what rate am I transmitting the data?
Thank You.
