Very well explained. I would also like to add there might be a question on why the need for control loop instead of increasing the length of the fiber component. In optical fiber communication, components such as amplifiers are usually used with a constant distance from one another in the link. So using control loop you wouldn’t need to use all the components used in some part of the link over and over in series.
