Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

For a birdirectional fibre wdm pon. Downstream result will be better than upstream? Why?
And if I increase the bandwidth of the mux and Demux and AWg. The min bEr will be affected. Why?
Hi koll,
I don’t think the downstream signal being better than upstream is necessarily true. It very much depends on your implementation and the schemes adopted for each. In many cases, the modulation schemes are different, so of course, the results are different. If you want to know the reason for a particular system, please attach the system file.
If the already allocated bandwidth is not enough, increasing it would boost the signal. Otherwise, it would cause more noise to be added to the signal and therefore the signal deteriorates.
