Dear all, I am trying to realize all the lab assignments available in optiwave website Lesson8
https://optiwave.com/resources/academia/new-optisystem-lab-assignments-2015/
In the “fig2: layout for calculating BER of NRZ” the optical transmitter shown has one input and one output port. But the component available do not have any input port. Please help.
With regards
Dhiman Kakati
Hi Dhiman,
The optical transmitter has a defined Pseudo random bit sequence generator by itself. If you want to define an external PRBS generator, then you should tick the “External PRBS” option in PRBS tab in the optical transmitters properties. After this, an input port appears for this purpose (the same as the one shown in the lab8 pdf).
Regards
Hey,
I hope you are enjoying the labs! 🙂 In that case the Optical Transmitter has the option to use an External PRBS sequence. In the component properties, and in the PRBS tab (the second tab) check the External PRBS box.

Thanks a lot Alistu and Damian.
