This is my request to designers of “Optisystem 13” that I am grateful to provide me such a nice simulation software but it sometimes not works (eg. get not output from the cw laser). It would be helpfull if you troubleshoot the problem.

      Hi Dhiman,

I know that you have posted your statement to OptiSystem designers, but I think it would help them much more if you provide more specific information about the bugs you find in the software to them. For example, it is a good idea to attach the osd file containing the simulation with the problem you are addressing, because sometimes some bugs are found when a component is working in a specific setting. It’s only my opinion. Thank you.

      Kind regards

Dear alistu, I have attached the .osd file(its not final structre), please find some solution why at the output of cw laser no spectrum is there.

      With regards,

Two CW lasers have been used in your implementation. The “CW laser 1” whose spectrum should be shown in “Optical Spectrum Analyzer 8” shows no signal and that is due to the fact that there is no connection between the laser and the OSA. After I connected them, I was able to see the signal without problem. Please see if this is the case.

But one more point i need to mention that if I do copy paste the whole component in a new project it works.
      Thanks.

I am still facing the same problem many a times, Please give me some solution so that there is noo need of copy paste.

      Regards

I have mentioned in my prvious comment that there was no wire connection between the laser and the visualizer whcih is supposed to be showing a signal. If it is so, then copying and pasting should not be of any help. Otherwise, please upload the osd which has the problem you are referring to so that I would be able to check.

Thank you. This exactly happens due to the fact that the visualizer is not connected to the CW laser 1. I have attached the file with modification here, where I have only connected the laser and visualizer together. Please compare your own implementation with the modified one in this regard.

Dear Alistu you have forgot to attach the modified file in the last reply #25369, So please add the file here.

Dear Alistu, Don’t say sorry as I did the same mistake many times you know, Actually Our attention fully occupied by the issue. so these are some small mistakes.

      Thanks for the attachment.

I need to mention that the file you have attached still not showing any spectrum at the output of the CW LASER and power also -100dBm. I don’t know I am facing this problem in my laptop if it is showing correct spectrum in your system.

Indeed it is showing the spectrum in my computer. You can see the spectrum shown form CW laser 1 by Optical spectrum visualizer 8 in the image I have attached. It is really strange. Is the connection between the visualizer 8 and CW laser 1 there in the file I have attached in my former post when you open it?

Dear Alistu, in my case also the LASER spectrum comes like as you have attached in the above reply when I copy and paste all the components in a new project file and run the simulation and get the output at the optical spectrum visualizer, but what may be the problem in the file I have attached in reply #25355. But copy paste all the components should not be a solution. It should be possible solve the problem in the same layout Either by changing the layout parameter or by changing the component property, if my attached file is running properly in your system, Then there may be some problem with my system also.

If anyone is facing the same problem with me please let me know.

      With regards

As I mentioned earlier, your attached file does NOT give any results for OSA 8, as the visualizer is not connected to any component. Please have a look at the snapshot I have attached, which show the OSA_8 is not wire-connected to any component. So try to connect it and see if you get any results IN YOUR OWN FILE. If you did not get any results, then maybe you should ask for technical help.

Dear alistu, The attacged Image shows that you have pointed about the right side laser at the detection part but I mentioned about the left most CW LASER in the transmission side ir, with OSA and power meter, there I am finding not spectrum and no output power(-100dBm). Leave about the right side laser.

I wish you had told me that earlier, as I was mentioning “CW Laser 1” in all my comments. I think you’re right, it is a technical problem related to your computer since I am getting the optical spectrum for that laser. I think you should ask for help from Optiwave technical support or from Damian on Monday, explaining the whole problem.
