I always get this error while simulating my structure “Modal Generator could not generate input field”.

Given that I select the waveguide as in the tutorials. However, when I choose calculate mode and choose my I didn’t find the “Apply Data” as in Opti-FDTD.

      Any help please?

Please attach your project file and I can troubleshoot it.

Another question is, when having two waveguides I can’t select except 1 of them unlike in Optifdtd

      Here you’re again the file.

Hello, I received your file thanks! I am a little confused to what you are simulating though. Are you running a 3D sim or 2D sim and can you link a schematic of design of what the device should look like and how it functions?

I am getting the same error as you it might be something with the meshing or the high index contrast.

      Regards

      Hello Ahmad,

In input plane, I changed the starting field into “gaussian” and in simulation parameters, below refractive index tab, I changed as “average” and now the file is working.

Here I have attached the file.
