Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

i want to tune the delay of light in photonic crystal waveguide through modification of refractive index by theuse of carrier plasma dispersion effect arising due to applied electric field. can this be done in opti fdtd?
Not sure if OptiFDTD can model interactions of elect. field with material. Did you consider OptiBPM?
thnx for replying Ravil.
i have just started working on opti fdtd.. and i don’t have much idea about the capabilities of this software.
i just looked for optibpm and i have come across a tutorial for electrooptic simulation …so..should i go for optibpm instead?
i think optibpm does not support photonic crystals
Good question, I’m not sure if you can built your photonic crystal in OptiBPM!
On the other side, I doubt if you can model active medium and induce electrodes in OptiFDTD… But it’s a good soft to model reflections from / transmission through your photonic crystals!
